The Catawba Ridge High School band was honored to perform in the 2024 London New Year’s Day Parade!
Co-founder Joe Bone and Duncan Sandys, the Great Grandson of Winston Churchill, traveled to Fort Mill to personally extend an invitation to the band to participate in the 2024 London New Year’s Day Parade.
The Parade, in its fifth decade of operation, has now become the City’s largest event, bringing nearly 1 million live viewers and 600 million broadcast viewers from around the world.
The parade prided itself on bringing in talents from 20 countries. Marching Bands are uniquely American, therefore the parade looks to the States for Marching Band Talent.
The Catawba Ridge Band was thrilled to have been picked for this honor. Catawba Ridge High School opened its doors in August of 2019. The band went on to win several awards that year, including the Upper State Marching Championship. Although Covid restrictions forced the cancellation of the 2020 marching season, the band returned more determined than ever, winning the 2021 South Carolina AAA State Title. 2022 was an amazing year for the band. Not only did they win the BOA Carolina Regional Band Competition and the South Carolina AAAA State Band title, but they received a personal invitation to perform in the London New Year’s Day Parade.
We would like to personally thank every single person who participated in our London fundraising events which helped take the band from Catawba Ridge to Westminster Bridge!
Thank you for your continuous support !
