The Catawba Ridge Concert Ensembles are the foundation of the band organization. During the spring semester, students are assigned to one of two concert ensembles based on ability level: The Wind Symphony and Concert Band meet daily for eighty minutes, and both bands prepare several concerts throughout the concert season. In addition, many of the students participate in individual events, such as the SCDBA All-Region process and the SCBDA Solo & Small Ensemble Competition. Several students each year advance to the SCBDA All-State Band or Orchestra, which perform in March. As full ensembles, the concert band and wind symphony compete at South Carolina Band Directors Association annual Concert Performance Assessment.
